Why Most Maldivians Are Being Fooled? Failed Education System!

Well! first of all rest assured that I'm not here to mock anyone by any means. But if we look at our country many people are well.. still how will you say not up to the standard for a country to develop themselves. I don't blame only our people for it, but the people who have the power to do something about it hasn't put any effort in it. Don't know if its for a purpose or whether its for some gains or any other conspiracy theory for that matter. But it is troubling, because a country's prosperity development and wealth comes from their peoples knowledge and experience. We need to produce more high intellectual individuals in our community and for that we need a really good education system. Our education system needs more reforms and changes if it's going to help our people.
I can't believe that after all these years we have never been able to have at least a college which can teach to degree level in Maldives, with exception of Villa college where the options are still very limited. What I'm saying is finishing just only the local grade 10 'O' levels or 'A' levels is not enough in this era anymore. Our youngsters need to be more compelled and motivated to go for higher studies. But i know most of us don't have the luxury to go abroad for higher studies, believe me i know because i have struggled huffed and puffed to be where i am currently now. But with hard work anything is almost achievable. It's no wonder most high intellectual Maldivians doesn't prefer to work in our country. Because they know how uncivilized & undeveloped our nation is. I love my country very much and thats why I'm telling that we can't let this brain drain happen. We need to our government need to attract these people, we need huge reforms in our education department. Career development programmes really necessary for students who are confused in what they should do after 'O' levels and 'A' levels. Awareness needs to be spread for our youngsters to excel and achieve more. Government needs to invest more in creating colleges hopefully universities atleast one big one will do instead of wasting it all in increasing their salaries.
I have gone to some islands atolls of Maldives and seen that the literacy level is so low that it's saddening. Maldivians may think having a school is enough. But having good teachers and facilities and knowledgeable creative modules and a good education system of a whole is equally important. No wonder its so easy to fool Maldivians. I'm sure any Maldivian who have been travelling outside Maldives will know that our country has mostly underachieved and hasn't gone the distance it should.
